The Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota, settled in downtown Mankato, offers hands-on play and learning opportunities for children birth through ten and their families. The Museum’s indoor and outdoor exhibits are all designed to stimulate inquiry, spark curiosity, and reveal the wonders of STEAM and agriculture, while also calling attention to Southern Minnesota heritage and Dakota culture. Daily admission to the Museum is $9 per person older than 12 months and, for those who like to play more, there are membership packages starting at $115 for a whole year.  Check the Museum website for details.

Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota Events

Celebrate Harvest Time at the Museum with harvest decorations, straw maze, visiting farm animals, corn & soybean play, and much more! Harvest Fest runs October 1 – 24 will special events throughout the fall festival:

  • Saturday, Oct. 2: Harvest Fun with old-fashioned games all day and an afternoon concert with Mankato Symphony Orchestra at 1pm! Admission to the Museum and the concert is free from 1pm-4pm.



  • Friday & Saturday, Oct. 15 & 16: Healthy Harvest with Grain Bin Safety exhibit and harvest time foods and crops.
